League Marketing Campaigns Win Awards

(March 26 - Latham, NY) – The New York State Credit Union League was recently honored with two Diamond Awards by the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council for their marketing achievements.

The League received a Merit Award in the Non-Agency/Association Community/PR Program category for the New York Credit Union Foundation’s "Who Are You? Identity Thieves Really Want to Know" campaign. It won its second Merit Award in the Non-Agency/Credit Union Association/League or CUSO Marketing Campaign category for CUC Mortgage’s "Want a Quarter Percent Off of Your New Mortgage?" program. Both were business to consumer campaigns.

Camille Aleixo, the League’s VP of Marketing & Communications, accepted both awards at the 2008 CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council Conference held March 16-19 in Nashville, TN.

"These awards reflect the League’s dedication to excellence," said Camille Aleixo, VP, Marketing and Communications, New York State Credit Union League. "It is particularly gratifying that we received them from CUNA’s Marketing and Business Development Council."

The Diamond Awards are considered the pinnacle of credit union marketing and business development. Entry is open to any CUNA-affiliated credit union or credit union association/league. This year, the competition received 1,300 entries. Each entry is judged against others in its category based on five criteria: strategy, design and production, creative concept, copy and communication, and results.

The New York State Credit Union League (NYSCUL) has served as the trade association for the state’s credit unions for 91 years. It is the fifth largest league in the country. New York credit unions have assets of more than $39 billion and more than 4.2 million members. To learn more about the League, visit www.nyscul.org.
