Each year, during International Credit Union Week, the credit union movement celebrates its unique mission and philosophy. To help credit unions plan for this annual observance, the League produces and distributes a media kit that includes a sample press release, local proclamation template, basic credit union information / statistics, and a list of suggested activities.
Promoting the credit union difference and the benefits of membership through good public relations is essential in todays fiercely competitive financial services industry. We do this through several vehicles, including:
- Newsroom, a section of our website where youll find recent press releases on important and timely credit union issues and events
- Ready-to-use newsletter articles on financial services and credit union-related topics
- Media training
The New York State Credit Union League's Communications Council
Making a difference in the community is something all good credit unions strive for, and the League’s Communications Council helps in a variety of ways.
Credit unions can offer college-bound high school seniors the opportunity to compete statewide for scholarships to either a two- or four-year accredited educational institution.
Each Communications Council member coordinates the district’s involvement in this yearly statewide program that raises money for hospitals and other charitable organizations that assist children in New York State.
