History
In 1995, after years of helping a variety of worthy causes, the League introduced its first Credit Unions Care for Kids program. The program benefited hospitalized children from Long Island to Buffalo.
Given the unprecedented success of the 1995 program, the League’s Marketing and Communications Department decided to continue focusing on children as the beneficiaries of their community involvement efforts. The Care for Kids tradition is now twelve years old and growing.
How the Program Works
The program is organized by the League’s Marketing and Communications Department. Chapter and credit union representative decide on organizations or charities they will focus on each year. Chapter and credit union representatives promote the program in their chapters, and coordinate chapter-wide publicity for credit unions.
Before, during, and after the program, the League’s Marketing and Communications Department coordinates statewide and national publicity.
