Community Service
Whether raising money for local charities, mentoring at-risk students, or volunteering at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, or health agencies, credit union managers, staff, and members exemplify the credit union philosophy of "people helping people."
Credit unions are traditionally involved in their communities in many ways. In this spirit, the New York State Credit Union League organizes and directs a statewide community involvement program each year; all affiliated credit unions may participate. The program has three goals:
- making a difference in the lives of New Yorkers who need our help;
- providing statewide activity in which all affiliated credit unions can participate;
- offering an opportunity to bring honor, recognition, and good will to the credit union movement in each of the League's districts and the state as a whole.
