How you can support CUPAC Now, more than ever, it is important for credit unions to help elect officials who will defend our ability to serve our members. We again ask for your support, requesting that you donate an item at least $50 in value. Everybody’s a winner at the CUPAC Auction and Cocktail Reception. Each Convention, the silent auction is a huge success, thanks to the generosity of numerous credit unions and exhibitors and Convention attendees who bid on auction items. Suggested items: gift baskets, theatre and arts tickets, tickets to sporting events, electronic equipment, hand-held organizers (PDAs), hotel or travel packages, gift certificates or sporting equipment. In order for the Credit Union Association of New York to be in compliance with the state and federal Election Laws, the contribution form must be completed. Please complete this form and return it to Governmental Affairs at the address listed below. Items can be shipped prior to Convention, by September 12, to: All auction items being hand delivered must arrive at the Convention registration area by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7. If you choose to hand-deliver your item, please e-mail Governmental Affairs no later than September 12 at governmental.affairs@cuany.org, so it can be listed in the auction booklet. CUPAC is the state’s credit union political action committee. Individual contributions to CUPAC are used to support credit union-friendly candidates who are running for state office. Contributions are strictly voluntary, and you have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal. Rules for state political fundraising require us to record the name and address of anyone who is donating more than $99. CULAC/CUPAC is the Associations’s fundraising account for Congressional legislators and federal candidates who support credit unions. CULAC/CUPAC is affiliated with CUNA at the national level. Contributions to CUPAC are not tax deductible for income tax purposes. Personal, PAC and corporate contributions are acceptable and will be deposited according to NYS Election Law. |
