The (Southern) Adirondack chapter raised $13,561 to benefit pediatric programs at four area hospitals as part of the League’s 2007 Credit Unions Care for Kids campaign. In addition to selling “Clarence the Cow” mascots, the credit unions sold candy bars, mugs, held raffles, lobby coin drops and business donations.
Credit union representatives present checks to two of their four recipients. Participating in the campaign were: Great Meadow FCU; Hudson River Community CU; Parks Heritage FCU; Saratoga’s Community FCU and TCT FCU.

A newly restored historic marker was unveiled by Ticonderoga FCU (TFCU) as part of their International Credit Union Week celebration. The Meacham House Historic Site marker sits on the property of TFCU’s Port Henry branch, the original site of long gone Meacham House, which was built in the early 1800s. For the fourth year, UFirst FCU participated in Halloween on Safety Street at the Crete Civic Center. Each participant creates a booth from which to distribute candy. The booths are lined up along a pathway, which provides a safe, dry place for little ones to go trick or treating. ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Port Henry site on March 23. On hand

Representatives from three of six participating

a check to Saratoga Care’s Clowns on Rounds program. The donation
came from proceeds raised as part of the League’s Care for Kids
program. Altogether, the group raised almost $18,000. Pictured:

Hudson River Community CU’s 2nd
annual youth member appreciation day was a great success. Over 1,700
members participated in the festivities at the Great Escape
Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George on June 11. Members 17 years of
age and younger received free admission, picnic lunch, beach towels

special “thank you” plaque to Hudson River Community CU CEO
Bev Towers. The credit union donated over $37,000 to the center to

District Director Lorraine Bourdeau (Ayerst EFCU)
thanks outgoing District President Charles Folensbee for the time
and professionalism he brought to the district council during his
tenure at the Adirondack district’s April 8th meeting.
Bourdeau also presented Folensbee with a thank you gift at the event
on behalf of the district. Not to be forgotten are the district’s
fundraising efforts at the meeting. A CUPAC auction and a Care for
