When it comes to support for New York’s communities, money is surely important but hardly enough. To flourish, each and every community needs the time, talent, dedication and hands-on involvement of its people and organizations. That is why credit unions are so essential to the life of a community. Their entire culture revolves around the power of “people helping people.” No wonder the people of credit unions appear so often at the homeless shelters and the toy drives and the senior centers in every community. They are the ones who roll up their sleeves and make communities work.
