Outstanding Professionals, Volunteers & CUs Recognized at Convention

(October 14- Albany, NY) –The Credit Union Association of New York recognized outstanding professionals and volunteers and announced its statewide Dora Maxwell and Louise Herring Award winners at its 88th Annual Convention, which took place in Niagara Falls at the beginning of the week. “Credit Unions: Harness the Power” was the theme as hundreds of participants gathered for the three-day event.

“The friendly upbeat mood that existed throughout this year’s event made it obvious that Convention is the perfect venue to acknowledge and applaud our award recipients,” said William J. Mellin, Association president and CEO. “Add to that outstanding speakers, committed credit union leaders, top-notch vendors and great entertainment, and you end up with a successful and productive event that’s truly memorable.”

Additional Convention highlights included general session appearances by the Mayor of Niagara Falls, Paul Dyster; Vice Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration Rodney Hood; Alison Levine, president of her own consulting firm, Daredevil Strategies; as well as a varied selection of education sessions. 

The Credit Union Association of New York has served as the trade association for the state’s credit unions for 91 years. It is the fifth largest league in the country.
