Welcome to Your "New" Association
We believe that when you communicate with crystal clarity in today’s competitive marketplace, you are able to make yourself heard, draw the attention of key influencers and deliver results. Therefore, as of June 2, your League has a whole new identity, including:
Effective June 2, the New York State Credit Union League will become the Credit Union Association of New York. Leading with the words credit union, this new name instantly communicates what we’re all about. By no longer beginning our name with New York State, we will clear up any confusion about our organization being a state agency. The word League now gives way to the self-evident Association. With such a clear name, all our constituents—legislators, government agencies, credit unions and the public—will know at a glance just who we are and whom we serve.
We live in a visual world. Our dynamic position in the credit union movement—a position we proudly take in partnership with our members—demands that we project an equally dynamic, independent visual identity. With that in mind, our former logo has been replaced with a new abstract logo that represents a compass.
This directional symbol carries meaning for us on several levels. It expresses our role in navigating the current business and legislative climate to help credit unions reach their goals. Like the compass needle, the Association provides direction and guidance for all credit unions. And by incorporating elements such as the sweeping arc of the compass, so popular in today’s marketplace, this logo places us on par with other leading organizations.
Our new tagline, Leading the Way, communicates our position in the marketplace; specifically, the role we—and our credit union members—play in creating a favorable business climate in which all credit unions can thrive.
With a new Association name comes a new website (launching later in June), starting with the address: www.nyscul.org will give way to www.cuany.org. The website’s new look and functionality were designed specifically for your convenience:
- New, easier navigation
- A search engine to help you find what you want, quickly and easily
- Breaking news and upcoming events right on the homepage
- A main press room on the homepage and a separate press room for each core area: Governmental Affairs, Member Services, Outreach and Regulatory Compliance
- More resources than ever before
The name of our weekly newsletter, League Lines, will change to The Point (as in compass point, reflecting our new logo). This “source for credit union news” will still be delivered to you weekly.
Amid all these changes, substantial economies of scale have dictated a physical move as well, and we will be relocating to a nearby facility also occupied by Members United Corporate Federal Credit Union.
As of Tuesday, May 27, our physical address will be:
1021 Watervliet-Shaker Road
Albany, NY 12205Our mailing address will remain the same:
PO Box 15118
Albany, NY 12212-5118Our phone numbers will also remain the same:
Local: (518) 437-8100
Toll-free: (800) 342-9835

How we communicate our identity has changed completely. The core of who we are, however, remains the same: we still are, and always will be, your voice for the credit union movement in New York, with the same management and staff dedicated to helping your credit union thrive.
